We were blessed to go on a mission trip to St. Thomas in July of 2009. We went to minister to the people there and we preached at the Bovoni Baptist Church every evening, Monday-Friday.
There was eleven people plus one year old Mattie in our team which was put together by John & Simone Lake of the Church on Randell Place in Pine. The team consisted of people from Pine, Payson, Phoenix, Yuma & Arkansas.
Once in St. Thomas our day consisted of devotions and a meeting durning breakfast of what our day activities would be and who would be doing what. At dinner we would go over the days activities and then leave for the conference at the church. We visited many nursing homes and the hospital. We were also able to meet with some youth from a troubled teen home and do a street outreach.
It was very encourging because the people were open to the gospel. at the hospital we were aloud to pray with people. We met one guy Elvis who prayed with Mike for salvation. On the street outreach we went to some apartment complex and the people would ask us to come in and pray for them. Everywhere we went the people were very friendly and everyone loved little Mattie, especially at the nursing homes.
Mike was able to give his testimony to the young people and he preached on raising children at the conference and witnessing to people. I was blessed to be a part of it and got to help with the children at the conference and I also prepared the meals for the team.
We were blessed to be able to go and want to thank everyone for helping us make it possible.
